“Three.six.five” (VULP-0033) is the new single release from Red Bellows, out now on Vulpiano Records. Two tracks off their free LP release EPONE, “Three.six.five” showcases Red Bellows’ somber, bluesy side while the strong melodies sweeping epic quality of “Phonetic” brings this single to a fantastic close.

“Homecoming” from King Elizabeth on Vulpiano Records (VULP-0030) is an epic intro to this one-man band from the UK. With influences from post-punk greats like Joy Division and the Associates to psychedelic-tinged music like The Doors and The Stone Roses, listening to King Elizabeth provides not only a complete listening experience, but into the beyond as well…”Homecoming” is pulled from forthcoming album Obsessive Desires, plus the single release includes b-side “Faith”.

Prolific Vulpiano Records artist Richey Hackett’s new single “Flawed Above Bored” (VULP-0025) is taken from the forthcoming album of the same name. Previously appearing on the label with a compilation, single, and album, Hackett has taken a uplifting and catchy direction quite different from the dark electronics of Void Songs.

Previously appearing on Vulpiano Records with a compilation spanning his catalog 2007-2010, British independent artist Richey Hackett has just released the new single for his forthcoming album Void Songs (coming September 27th), VULP-0016. Taking an electronica direction, quite a hop from his usual pop-rock style, “Softly, Slowly” is both catchy and unnerving, Hackett’s vocals taking on a haunting quality amidst mesmerizing, hypnotic loops of drums and eerie melodies - one of his best works yet and quite the taster for the album to come! The b-side here is an instrumental, “Years”, mysterious and near-industrial sounding, providing a further glimpse into just how epic Void Songs will be when released in full.

VULP-0014 is Year of the Tiger’s (from Brooklyn, Henry Ivry from IVRY and Sable Yong AKA Spaghetti Western) debut digital single + b-side, “Electric / Make it Work”. This band is responsible for the first time i used larger font and all-caps to describe an independent artist submission (“WHOA NOW!!!”) in an A Future in Noise review, I was so impressed by the sheer coolness of the demo they sent along! If you want to hear crunchy, tasty electro-poppy goodness, you’re going to want to sink your teeth into “Electric” and b-side “Make It Work”!

Ricky Lynn’s first Vulpiano Records release, VULP-0012, is the single Loops with b-side “Lost”, two experimental electronic pieces. “Loops” begins as ambient, spinning into otherworldly and glitchy elements over time. “Lost” floats along in its icy, sparkly way to the end, bringing the single to a peaceful conclusion.

Another Vulpiano Records release, VULP-0004 is here, Ian France’s High Places/Crackabow single! Ian is one of my favorite independent electronic artists out there right now (he also remixed one of my songs, “Ice Water Girl”), blending remix elements in the context of his original electronic tunes. Catchy, otherworldly, and cool - you can grab it for free here: http://www.mediafire.com/?mztjmknqigj

VULP-0002, the first single release from Vulpiano Records: Tiny Tide - The Smiths & The Cure, which is (you guessed it) a sort of tribute to both of those bands, with a particularly spot-on jangly guitar. You can download it here (which includes some alternate versions and a cover of Roxy Music’s “Rain Rain Rain”):

I (Marilyn Roxie) have collaborated with Tiny Tide’s Mark Zonda in the past (on the Earth EP) and contributed to his SleepWalking Mag music blog (Making a Case for the Horrors, Artist Feature: Natural Snow Buildings) - yet another very fortuitous Last.fm meeting!
